Why I’m Sweating with Pride
I’m taking on Sweat with Pride this June to raise money for our Rainbow communities! 🌈
As a bisexual femme cis woman, there are many ways casual homophobia happens to me because I'm not always seen as queer. This can benefit me. But can also eat away at me.
Queer and Rainbow people have experiences related to their sexuality and gender expression that others don't.
Even though gay marriage exists and we have rights:
Heterosexuality is often viewed as the 'default'.
People only care about grammar because they're scared of pronouns.
Rainbow crossings are erased.
Storytimes are cancelled.
There are spaces and places where people don't feel or are safe.
There are times when I say 'partner' because I do not know how the person I'm speaking to will respond.
I'm sweating with pride to bring joy and opportunities to those who need support because their experience isn't as easy as mine.

I’m sweating for 21 minutes
per day this June!
