Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I’m taking on Sweat with Pride this June to raise money for our Rainbow communities! 💦🌈

They have a mountain to climb so I have a mountain to climb!

More than HALF our rainbow whānau have experienced mental illness. ONE in FIVE of our rainbow rangatahi (youth) have attempted suicide. That's not ok. Life changing STIs like syphilis, mpox and HIV are still far too common. Things need to change.

So, this June I’m fighting discrimination with perspiration, and I've committed to exercising  every day to raise money to support Rainbow Kiwis.

This cause means a lot to me. I’d be SO GRATEFUL if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. That's 💰double💰 the amount I raised last time because mental health statistics are only getting worse. 

Every dollar I raise will fund life-changing mental, physical and sexual health services for Rainbow New Zealanders. Thank you, thank you, thank you for any donation you can make. ❤️

I’m not doing too well raising money on Dollar Matching days but I’m keeping up with my perspiration to fight discrimination in the hope that I will eventually hit my goal of raising $2,500 for mental health for Rainbow Kiwis 🌈. Just got to keep climbing - fundraising numbers AND hills. 😊

I’m working on the sweat part of sweat with pride with some yoga in Bali. Lots of young 🌈 people aren’t able to have such fun so donations are really appreciated to help their mental health.

I’m trying difficult types of exercise. Yesterday I tried a rowing machine that has gathered some dust and found a nice exercise companion!

I'm loving the challenge of sweating every day.  I am not grumbling about getting out for a first run in a while and I'm looking for mountains to climb and thinking of types of exercise I haven't done in a while, like swimming!  I'm also hoping I get over the $1k in donations, especially on dollar matching day!

Cheers everyone. I’m feeling truly grateful that my first shout out has resulted in a number of donations already. There’s so much need for health services that I am hoping more donations will come. Wait til I start huffing and puffing like a good Sweaty Betty.  I hope that might incentivise some more donations!
