Why Iโ€™m Sweating with Pride

Iโ€™m taking on Sweat with Pride this June to raise money for our Rainbow communities! ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐ŸŒˆ

Our schools, workplaces, and doctorsโ€™ offices are still not safe places for many Rainbow New Zealanders and itโ€™s putting lives at risk.

More than half our rainbow whฤnau have experienced mental illness. One in five of our rainbow rangatahi (youth) have attempted suicide. And life changing STIs like syphilis, mpox and HIV are still far too common. Things need to change.

So, this June Iโ€™m fighting discrimination with perspiration, and I've committed to exercising for at least 21 minutes EVERY DAY to raise money to support Rainbow Kiwis.

This cause means a lot to me. Iโ€™d be SO GRATEFUL if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar I raise will fund life-changing mental, physical and sexual health services for Rainbow New Zealanders.

Thank you sooooo much โค๏ธ

So, diving ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ into why I joined @sweatwithpride this year โ€” it's personal! As a queer man, I get it. The struggles, the loneliness at times, the unique journeyโ€”it's all part of the package. But one thing that shouldn't be part of this marathon is struggling alone. Mental health is a biggie, and too often, our community faces barriers ๐Ÿ‡ to getting the support we need. So joining this campaign was a no-brainer. I'm all in because every queer kid out there deserves to know they're not alone and that there's help available, no matter what they're going through. It's about building a community where we lift each other up and make sure everyone has the chance to thrive mentally and emotionally. And hey, if I can play โ›น๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ a part in making that happen, count me in! Please donate if you are in a position to do so! Otherwise, support other by sharing their fundraising campaigns in your networks! Afterall, this is a team effort! We all win in the end! ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ๐Ÿ…
