This is my first year sweating

I’m sweating to take a stand against discrimination and create real change

Why I’m Sweating with Pride

I'm taking on Sweat with Pride this June! 💦🌈

Right now, schools, workplaces, and even doctors’ offices aren’t safe for many in our community—and it’s putting lives at risk. LGBTQIA+ Kiwis face higher rates of mental illness, suicide, and STIs like syphilis, mpox, and HIV.

So, I'm fighting discrimination with perspiration—exercising 21 minutes every day in June to raise money for life-changing Rainbow support services.

This cause means the world to me, and I’d be SO grateful if you could chip in to help me reach my goal. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

For my Dad 🥰

Tuesday 15 April 2025

I am taking part in this event for my Dad. My Dad was a transgender Female and although it might have looked like it was easy for her, it wasn’t. She always had a brave face on but unfortunately there were many people who treated her differently. Work was sometimes a terrible place where she would get spat on and called names. People who she thought were her friends left and never talked to her again. Even some close family wouldn’t acknowledge her any more which made her feel alone. All of this had a dramatic effect on her mental health. This is something that no one should ever have to go through….

One of her favourite times of the year was Pride week in Queenstown, she could be who she was without any discrimination and she met so many cool and wonderfully people. Without the support of this community it would have been a very isolating life and that is why I have chose to raise money for this great cause, everyone should be allowed to be who they want to be.

Love you, Rae-Ella RIP 💜
